Health and safety when connecting peripherals

Its very important to fallow health and safety guidelines which is most often being based in the technology set up manuals such as computer, printers , scanners etc.

The best thing when the user is connecting his/her peripherals to the CPU which is base inside the computer is make sure is that all the electrical cables and other electrical equipment which associates with the computer it should be turn off just for the safety reasons because if the computer cables and other electrical is on while you trying to connect printer etc. it can even cause fire or electrical shock so it’s better to be careful and turn off before you connect anything electrical to your computer.

In this assignment 5 part I am going to explain to you the most important things about health and safety when connecting peripherals to your computer.

also the user has to make sure that the cables which is going to be connected into the computer won't cause any harm to the user so the user has to make sure that there is no visible wires which can cause harm to the user and to peripherals which the user is going to use

Keeping your working area desk tidy

This is important stuff to do for the health and safety reasons, overloading your computer working desk can cause some of the damage which are if the cables become overheated it can cause the fire or electrical shock and damage other important stuff which is on your working areas table. Its important to keep any objects away from the cables just to avoid this problem. So its better to keep your working area tidy as much as possible , also the user should keep away any liquid drinks and food from the computer set up and cables this is the most important part of health and safety, it’s best thing to keep any food and drinks away from the working station because if your drink will split on your computer or any computer cables while they are turn on it can cause the fire and electrical damages which is serious.

Printers:

Before the user plugs the printer cables to the computer and power cords he must examine all his printers first and test and check before the printer is being connected to the users computer. Also the user has to make sure that all electrical sockets which are connected to the computer cables are switched off before turn on the printer. Also a lot of people recommend that all printers, scanners and laser printers are at least one meter away from the user where he/she is sitting.

Also before installing the printer to the computer the user has to make sure that he had removed all the tapes and packaging from the printer. If there is any tapes left inside the printer or packaging and the printer is turned on , if the printer becomes overheated this could cause damage to the printer such as electrical cable damage or even fire.

Hard driver:
Before the user tries to connect a new hard driver to his computer he has to make sure that all the computer system are switched off and being plug off from the electrical sockets too. The user should handle the hard driver with care but not to hard and never force to it. The user has to carefully remove VDU system from the computer by using the proper tools for it.

Digital Camera:
