Connecting Pheripherals
In this Blog page i am going to explain to you how safetly connect the pheripherals such as printer, Digital Camera, Speakers, Scanner. I am going to explain to you the main procedures when connecting these pheripherals to the computer
Printer
When the user gets a new printer , before he does connect the printer to the computer he must make sure that all the packages and seals is being removed from the printer .
when the user wants to connect his printer to the computer , before the user connects the printer he must switch off the electrical wall socket which has connected the computer power cables.
After the user has switched off the computer , then he has to find the Suitable USB cable which connects both to the printer and to the USB port which is based in the computer base unit.
When the user has found the suitable USB cable to connect the printer to the computer, now he has to test the printer before he connects the USB cable to the computer. By testing i mean the user has to plug on the printers power cable into the electrical wall socket and turn on the electrical wall sucket & printer just to check there is no errors or any problems with the printer.
If the printer works correctly and doesn't show any problems, now the user is ready to connect the printer to the Computer . before he connects the printer to the computer using the USB cables he has to turn off the printer and turn off the electrical wall socket which has the printers power cables connected.
When the printer is turned off the user now have to gently connect the suitable side of the USB cable to the printer , usually the USB side which connects to the printer is call Printer connector:
After the user had connected the Printer connector to the printer , now he can connect the USB connector to the computer Base unit. The USB ports on the computer should be based on the computer base units front and on the back :
Connect the USB connector to the Base unit gently, and do not squeez in to hard as it can cause damages such as USB port damage.
after the user done connecting the printer to the computer, now he can switch the electrical wall socket on which has the computers & printers power cables connected.
When the printer is correctly connected to the computer , there should be message showing up on the computer which looks similar like this:
If the printer is connected correctly to the computer , the computer driver software installation should say ''ready to use'' .
then the user should really make sure that printer is connected correctly to the computer by click on start menu > in the search box type network > double click on network > on the top of the network click add printer> fallow the steps which shows up
Digital Camera
Before the user connects the camera into the computer he has to make sure that electrical wall socket is switch off which computer power cables is being connected.
After the user had switch off the electrical wall socket with the computer power cables now he is ready to connect the Digital Camera. He has to now find the suitable USB cable which will fit into the computers USB port and into the Camera USB port.
First he must connect the suitable USB cameras connector which most often looks smaller than computers USB connector , he has to connect the USB cameras connector gently into the camera with out squeezing .
After the user have done connecting the USB camera's connector into the camera, now he is ready to connect into the computer . He has to now connect the Computer USB connector into the computers USB port which most often is being based at the front & back of the computer base unit:
when the user had connected the camera into the computer, now he has to switch on the camera to test it and make sure the camera is working good before the computer is being switch on.
If the camera is working well, now the user can switch on the electrical wall sockets which has computers power cables connected & then he can switch on the computer by it self.
When the camera is being connected or is being install into the computer now the user should see the message box appearing which looks like this:
if the camera is being connected into the computer it should say on the driver software installation '' ready to use''
also to make sure the camera is connected correctly the user has to click start menu> computer > and the camera device should appear:
the camera device should appear in the location call ''devices with removable storage'', then the user has to double click on the camera device and now he can see/add videos and images into the camera folder
Now the user can click ''close'' and if the camera is connected properly now the user is able to transfer the pictures/video files from the camera into the computer or from the computer to the camera.
Speakers:
Before the user connects the speakers into the computer he has to make sure that electrical wall socket which has the computers power cables is being switch off .
When the computer is switch off ( the electrical wall socket is switch off ) , now the user is ready to connect the speakers.
first at all he has to find the suitable place where to connect speakers at the computer base unit. Usually the computer speakers has two cables which are 1 USB cable to turn on the speakers, 1 speaker cable which usually is green/black color and it's for the speaker sound to work.
the speaker cables should connect into the front of the computers base unit or at the back of the base unit. to connect the speaker USB cable the user can connect this USB cable into the computer USB port, and the Speakers main green/black the user has to connect the place at the computers base unit which looks like this:
the user should connect the speakers cable into the green cable ( line-out jack) port which based in the computers both front/back base unit.
after the speakers is being connected into the computers USB ports and Line out jack port, now the user can switch on the electrical wall socket which contains the computers cables , and then the user can turn on the computer.
to test if the speakers is being connected to the computer correctly, the user has to click sound button and then mixer and it should show up a window which will look like this:
if the speakers is connected correctly on the sound ''window'' should show speakers as a device then it means speakers is connected correctly.
when the speakers is being connected to the computer correctly, now the user can test the speakers if they are working by watching some videos, movies and listen to the music/sounds.
Microphone:
before the user connects the microphone into the computer, the user has to switch off the electrical wall socket which contains the computers power cables. so it means the user has to make sure the computer is totally off .
After the user has switch off the computer, now the user is ready to connect the microphone into the computer. Usually microphone has one cable which most connects into the computers Mic-in Jack port which is most often based at the front & back of the computers base unit which looks like this:
the user has to connect the microphones cable carefully and not squeezing as it can damage the microphones cable. after the user has connected the microphones cable into the mic-in jack port now the user is ready to switch on the electrical wall socket which has the computers power cables in it . so the user is ready to turn on the computer by it self.
the user now can test the microphone just to check if the microphone is working correctly after the computer is being switch on. there is different ways to test if the microphone is working, the user can use the computers software which is call 'windows speech recognition '' to check if the microphone is working.
Scanner:
Before the user tries to connect the new scanner into the computer, the user has to remove all the packing and seals from the scanner just for safety when the scanner is switched on
When connecting the scanner into the computer is a similar way like connecting printer into the computer. but before connecting the scanner into the computer the computer power cables should be switch off by switching off the electrical wall socket which contains computer power cables first. after the computer is switch the user has to test the scanner check if it's working first before is being connected into the computer.
the user has to plug on the scanners power cable into the electrical socket, and switch on the scanner check if the scanner is working correctly.
if the scanner is working correctly the user now has to switch off the scanner and electrical wall socket, and find the suitable USB cable which conntects both to the scanner and to the computer, the cable can look very similar like printers cable:
after the user has found the suitable cable to connect the scanner to the computer, now he has to connect the Scanner USB connector which has the different shape than Computers USB connector , into the Scanner. When connecting the Scanner's USB connector into the scanner the user has to connect the usb cable carefully slowly and easy just to avoid damages to the scanners USB port and to the Computers USB port.
When the user has done connecting the Scanner's USB connector into the scanner, now the user is ready to connect the Computer USB connector into the computers USB port which most often is being based at the front & back of the computers base unit.
after the scanner is being connected into the computer the user now can switch on the electrical wall socket which has the scanner and computer power cables connected. now the user can turn on both scanner and computer.
when the scanner is being connected into the computer the same message should show up
the user can test/check for scanner if it's connected correctly by clicking/downloading the software call windows scan and fax. On the top of this softwares menu the user is able to add/locate the scanner:
if the scanner is being connected correctly into the computer , this software should locate/find the scanner and add the scanner to the computer . If this software has found/connected to the new scanner it means the scanner is connected correctly and ready to scan.
